The stored height refers to the total length of the ladder when it is folded up or closed. This measurement is crucial for ensuring the step ladder will fit in the intended storage space.

Open Height

The open height of a step ladder is the total height from the floor to the very top of the ladder when it is fully open.

Platform Height

This is the height from the floor to the top standing surface. By top standing surface, this measurement refers to the specific step or platform that is designed for you to stand on (usually the third or fourth rung down from the top). Reach Height

The reach height, also known as the working height, is the maximum height you can comfortably and safely reach while on the step ladder. It is usually estimated by adding your height plus your reach to the platform height; if you are not sure on either of these measurements you can alternatively just add 2 metres (around 6 feet) for a rougher estimate.
